The short version.
If you purchase a volume or a companion tool from Industry Ledger Press and decide within 30 days of purchase that it has not earned its price, the press will refund the full purchase amount, in full, without questions, charges, or explanations required.
To request a refund, email press@industryledgerpress.com with your order number (visible on your purchase confirmation email) and a one-line note that you would like a refund. The press will process the refund to the original payment method within five business days. Most refunds clear within an additional one to three business days, depending on your card issuer or PayPal.
What is covered.
- Any individual volume from the press's catalogue
- Any companion tool (workbooks, calculators, checklists, defense packs)
- Any bundle purchased through the press's checkout — refunded in full to a single transaction
- Firm licenses, refundable within 30 days of license issuance, prorated against any volumes already accessed
What is not covered.
- Purchases made more than 30 calendar days before the refund request
- Custom consultations or services purchased through the press (these have their own engagement-specific terms)
- Purchases made through third-party resellers; those are subject to the reseller's policy, not the press's
Why we do this.
The press sells reference books at a price meaningfully above what most generic small-business tax books cost. The premium is warranted by the depth of the content, the rigor of the review, and the specificity of the industry coverage. We believe in those things; we expect every reader to find the value within an evening's reading; and we put our money where our pages are.
If we are wrong about a particular volume's value to a particular reader, that is our problem, not yours. The 30-day refund makes that explicit. We track refund rates internally as a quality signal. A volume with a refund rate above 5% gets editorial review; above 10% gets rewritten or pulled.
Watermarked copies.
Every PDF delivered by the press is watermarked with the buyer's email address and order number on each page. This watermark is part of how we distinguish purchased copies from redistributed ones. A refund request does not require you to delete the watermarked copy from your devices, but the press considers further use of a refunded volume to be inconsistent with the spirit of the policy. The watermark remains traceable to the original order.
Chargeback requests.
If you have a refund concern, please email the press first. Direct chargebacks through your bank or card issuer add fees and complications that the press does not pass back to honest customers, but does have to absorb. The press has a 100% honor rate on legitimate refund requests under this policy; chargebacks are reserved for circumstances where the press has failed to respond within the policy's commitment, which has not yet happened.
